Kinder Emergency Shelter

The Kinder Emergency Shelter is a coed 24-hour Harris County program providing emergency services to youths. In 2005, the foundation helped fund a new youth shelter which opened in 2006.

Today, Kinder Shelter staff assist young people in developing health self-esteem; appreciate their unique worth; learn to solve problems; choose appropriate, healthy behaviors; interact positively with other youths and adults; and learn independent living skills.
