Catholic Schools place a strong emphasis on education and character building as a basis in their school curriculum and, regardless of faith, anyone can benefit from a Catholic education. Over the years, the Kinder Foundation has donated more than $1 million to provide scholarships to Inner City Catholic Schools.

In 2012, the Foundation announced a transformational gift of $5 million to the Catholic Schools Cooperative, a pilot group of five PK3 to eighth grade Inner City schools that pool resources as a new model for school and student development in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. The Foundation’s gift is enhancing the Cooperatives classroom resources, including instruction and technology, teacher pay, professional development, and improvement of Cooperative facilities, some of which are more than 50 years old.
